I have one alt, for that one I made a section of supply crates and put the items she will need into it, that way she can get them from there. Negs is that you can only play one character at a time, the others are in the sanctum in what I would call a sleeping chamber, LOL. Your crafting one can also do the building to get the base set up the way you want. You can have a alt for a hunter/gather, one for mining, one for cooking to make the food items from what your hunter/gather brings home. You will need to do all the objectives, but you will get all the coins, cubits and experience from doing so. But when you go to go through the portal you pick location and go to your main character's base. Basically, you can go to sanctum and I don't rememeber all of the steps, but you just pick to make a alternative, doing so in the same way you make your character, give it the looks, colors and such, name it and go and take your totum and do the warp launch. A lot os solo players get at leasat one if not more.
The developers have provided for that with what is called alts (shor for alternative character). If you don't mind playing alone, don't feel the need to interact, you can do so, but advancement, you will have some problems as they are set more for a group to be able to advance. From what I have read on the boundless forum, it depends in what you want in the game.
